This event will be facilitated by Mountain Valley Senior Fellow Susan Frazier who is also partner to Kevin McCarthy in facilitating the Core Fellows Program for our Chapter. This session is designed to be a fun interactive event with equal parts of sharing your ALF vision and collectively planning for the future. As in all ALF endeavors, your voice is critical to the effort of building an ALF that is valuable to the Senior Fellow/Fellows Community. This session will build on the valuable feedback we have collected over the past several years that have helped steer our work. We hope you join us.
Join us for this special event hosted by Class III and Class V Senior Fellows, Mark Erreca and Ric Ortega. Ric, the General Manager for Grassland Water & Resources, will guide the group on a tour of the spectacular wildlife refuge.
“The Refuge is host to significant assemblages of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, and plants; some of which, such as the California tiger salamander, the long-horned fairy shrimp, and San Joaquin kit fox, are endangered species.”
This evening will include dinner after the tour and time to connect with new ALF friends!
The joy in leadership, builds on an expanding research base that look at a characteristic of transformational leaders that has tended to be ignored – they create a sense ofoptimism and possibility in the midst of the hard work of change. People have tended to associate this with vision, but that is not the case. What they are good at is in the day-to-day grind they are looking to keep the focus on what is working, what learning is happening, and what headway is being made. Instead of being focused on solving problems, they balance problem solving with a strong scanning and re-enforcement of advancement. This, it turns out, is not a common attribute and is definitely one that comes from an inner stance of the leader. Drawn from the work of the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu’s Book of Joy. They have 4 habits of heart and 4 habits of mind that leaders should ponder in building their personal stance in the midst of change.
Please join us as we welcome the newest members to our chapter, ALF GV Class IX Fellows, who will be beginning their ALF journey earlier in the day. The reception will end at 7:00pm, at which time the Class IX Fellows will convene for dinner. More information will follow at a later date, but please get this on your calendar and plan to attend to welcome our newest ALF Fellows.
Thank you for your ongoing support and I hope to see you there!
