Greg Kirkpatrick
American Farmland Trust

Greg Kirkpatrick joined American Farmland Trust in January, 1996 as the field representative for the Southern San Joaquin Valley. He was recently named the California Land Protection Representative and is responsible for identifying and completing agricultural conservation easement projects throughout the state. He also provides technical assistance to agricultural land trusts and local governments interested in developing local farmland protection programs.

Prior to his position as field representative, Kirkpatrick was president of KASCO Environmental Consultants and worked as a consultant to AFT. Kirkpatrick is a fourth generation San Joaquin Valley resident with more than 15 years of professional experience in the fields of rural appraisal, land use planning and field biology. He also assists with his family's farming operations, which have produced citrus and olives for more than 90 years.

Formerly a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala, Kirkpatrick now serves on the board of directors of the Four Creeks Land Trust, an organization managing a former Nature Conservancy preserve in Tulare County.

Kirkpatrick received his bachelor's degrees in aquatic biology and environmental studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He, his wife Karen and their two daughters reside in Visalia.
