Record harvest estimate – 750 million pounds - This year's harvest of California walnuts will be the biggest ever, according to a forecast by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Walnuts are one of the top three crops in the Sacramento Valley. Sacramento Bee article

Dam lawsuit topic of discussion -Corning's city council and those in attendance got an earful on Tuesday during the city council meeting concerning the removal of the Red Bluff Diversion Dam and the economic impacts resulting from that action, from Red Bluff's City Manager Martin Nichols, and Jeffrey P. Meth prevention plan aims to educate, eliminate - The Butte County Methamphetamine Task Force unveiled a new prevention plan Tuesday morning that organization members said will cost very little to implement, while effectively combating the meth epidemic in the county.
