Report: Mapping the Future (pdf - 866 KB)
Mapping the Future was developed to provide information on one component of the NEW
VALLEY CONNEXIONS program, that of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) standards for the
region. If we accept that GIS is the best tool for studying the Valley, it follows that we should
report on how it is currently used and how well the technology is positioned to assist regional
leaders in working toward the future. Therefore, this report will focus on a variety of issues related
to GIS, its staffing, raw materials, use, and development.
