Since 1999, IDEAL Alumni include community organizers, employees of public, private, and non-profit agencies and businesses, and elected and appointed officials. Fellows have developed friendships and established a network of regional contacts and resources. As alumni, they maintain these relationships through participation in the IDEAL alumni network and alumni gatherings.

Thirteen alumni serve on the Board of Directors. Linda Lopez: Is running for the Merced County Board of Supervisors in District 1. If elected she will look into the County's General Plan, at ways for collaboration with different agencies and organizations, and at quality of life issues that affect the population she will serve.

Rachelle Antinetti: Was recently appointed by Stanislaus County District 1 Supervisor Pat Paul to be part of the Stanislaus County Planning Commission. It is a 4 year appointment and she looks forward to being a part of the future of Stanislaus County.
Francisco Mireles: Has left Great Valley Center, and has joined the Juan Arambula for State Assembly campaign. He is responsible for the voter outreach coordination in the 31st assembly district.

Sergio Cuellar: Was recently hired by Youth In Focus as a Central Valley Program Manager.
Arsenio Mataka: Recently joined the Great Valley Center staff as a Community-based Assistance Programs Associate.
Dana Karcher : Has been chosen as President Elect of the California Urban Forests Council for 2004. She will assume the Presidency in 2005. The Mission of California Urban Forests Council (CaUFC) is to promote the proper planning, planting, and management of urban and community forests to maximize the quality of life for every Californian. Through its efforts to promote urban forestry, CaUFC has grown to an organization of over 300 members from the public, private and non-profit sectors, and continues to expand its outreach to the growing network of people interested in urban forestry. Today, there are urban forests councils modeled after CaUFC in most every state in America.
