$2,500.00 Mutual Assistance Network Youth Investment Center: Cooking with Mr. Cooper The grant will support an after-school program to teach youth aging out of the foster care system about nutrition, meal planning, and food preparation.
$2,500.00 San Juan Unified School District Books for Kids The funds will be used to purchase and catalog books, and organize a reading room for the Howe Avenue Elementary School Library. Scholastic, Inc. will provide a 50% discount on the books purchased for this project.
$2,500.00 Sobriety Brings About Change Vitality: Hip Hop Dance Group The grant will support a youth-led after-school program to provide a safe and positive environment for teens at risk for gang involvment.
$2,250.00 Asian Resources, Inc Youth Center Planning Commission The grant will support a program to help create a resource center where teens can receive assistance with homework, develop job skills and connect with youth-related programs and resources.
$1,900.00 University of California Cooperative Extension Xeriscape Garden Project The funds will support the creation of a drought-resistant public garden at the El Dorado County fairgrounds that will teach community members about the importance of water conservation and preserving local ecosystems.
$1,650.00 Youth In Focus Davis Senior High School: Overcoming Social Barriers Through Dialogue The grant funds will go to hosting a series of conferences where students, teachers, and other community members will have an opportunity to discuss race-related issues in a safe environment.
$1,600.00 United Iu-Mien Community, Inc. Iu-Mien Student Conference The funds will support a student-led conference at CSU Sacramento that promotes cultural awareness, high school graduation, and the pursuit of higher education among Iu-Mien students in the Sacramento area.
$1,500.00 Slavic Learning Center Get Smart Study Hall The grant funds will help to support students at Grant Community Charters Jackson Site School create a computer lab and study hall facility on their campus.
$1,393.00 Oak Park Neighborhood Multiservice Center YoutWORKS: Read to Succeed Literacy Program The funds will support a youth-led literacy program in which Hiram Johnson High School students work with students at Tahoe Elementary School to improve academic and reading skills.
$1,000.00 Friends of The Sacramento Public Library/North Natomas Library Teen Advisory Board: Teen Cafe The grant funds will go to the development of a website and electronic newsletter to showcase youth artwork and writing and provide information about classes, events, and resources available to teens in the North Natomas area.
$731.88 Communicare Health Centers Youth Health Advocates: Spring Fling at the Park The funds will support an event in the West Sacramento that will connect youth with resources in the community and showcase young people's contributions to the community.
$500.00 Freedom Bound Center Activist Encounter: Youth Incarceration Video The grant will help to fund a video about youth incarceration from a youth point-of-view.
