Over the course of two days, you will
see firsthand how this rapidly changing region
is grappling with critical economic, social and
environmental issues. From growth, health care,
and water to immigration, arts and education,
you will leave with a greater understanding of
this region's challenges.
Beginning in downtown Sacramento, your guided
charter bus will include visits to the Central
Valley Water Project, the new UC Merced campus,
farmworker housing, overnight at a
farm, a booming housing development, rural towns
in the South Valley's 'Orange Belt' and the Pacific
Flyway and much more. At each point, you will be
joined by leading experts available to answer questions
and share insights from all sides on these pressing
economic, social
and environmental issues.
The tour package is $500 and includes meals,
overnight hotel accommodations at Harris Ranch,
and background materials.
