Patty is Assistant Chief of the Integrating Medicine and Public Health (IMAP) Program. IMAP is a collaborative program of the Institute for Health and Aging at the University of California, San Francisco and the California Department of Health Services. She has over 20 years of experience in patient care, research, and program development in the health care field. She has held leadership positions in hospitals, clinics, a health plan, and in public health. Patty received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education at Washington State University and her Master’s Degree in Public Health, with an emphasis in Health Promotion, from San Diego State University. She has also been a Certified Health Education Specialist since 1990. Her areas of expertise include program development, implementation and evaluation, quality improvement, collaborative studies, disease management, population health, research in health promotion, health education, and clinical preventive services. She was recently the lead author on a publication entitled “The State of the Great Central Valley: Public Health and Access to Care.” This report is the focus of her presentation today.
